Oh, My Darling Boy
I swear to the stars, I heard you say it,
And I swear to the stars that it wasn’t the first time.
Something like a subliminal message,
A little poke on my shoulder.
You waited for me to notice.
I pray to the sun that their lips moved in fib,
Some misunderstanding stirring my vision,
Preying on my mind like that man in white I keep seeing,
Taunting me about my lack of decision,
My absence of courage and my rusted skin.
I swear to the stars that my mind didn’t make up this one,
I swear to the stars
I’ve heard it before.
