A Matter of Perspective
I approach you, luscious
lying on your stomach, bathed
in dappled sunlight.
I raise my arm, in greeting
you do not see me.
I walk closer, joining you
on your rainbow towel
you do not see me.
Over book pages you scream
raised arms I jump, away
your book thundering, after me.
Not the reaction, I
lonely spider, had sought.
Skittering away, I journey
to your friend, sitting
a close distance away,
you do not see me,
but she does.
