The Wild Man
Grasped by a thought,
The wild man yelled
To the eggshell-white wall
With the hard, plastic window
He yelled, “I am blind,
And only those who
Were born without working eyes
Can see the world
For what it was!”
Based on the wild man’s History,
The sane man with
The chart said, “No,
You are wrong.”
The wild man could see
As well as the doctor,
That he was indeed wrong.
But the wild man did not
Yell to be correct.
He yelled to be heard through
The hard, plastic window.
He yelled to be heard by someone
Who was deemed significant.
So he yelled at the men with the clipboards.
Around here, the man with the clipboard is king.
And the man with the eyes
Is tired of the view.
