Unfaithful
Hatred, hot and blinding,
Even as our blood is forever binding.
You turned to her with unthinking lust.
I cannot trust,
And still I must appear to love you.
Did I appear in your heart, in your mind,
As you silently loved her more?
What am I here for?
Seventeen years discarded, destroyed.
My heart is not your toy,
You can’t play with it today and throw it away
When you find another.
Unconditionally,
I once loved you.
Endlessly,
Beyond the ocean and skies,
More than the sunrise.
But dawn is more than daybreak.
Dawn illuminates,
Dawn reveals.
As our dawn grows brighter
My hatred grows hotter,
My heart grows weaker,
And love fades away.
