Need for Mother
There isn't some book that says it
 But it's true nonetheless
A girl always needs her mother
 It's that simple
She should be there for you
 For everything you need
 To braid your hair
Help you put on your prom dress
 Cry at your graduation
 Help you pack for college
 Cry at that graduation
To say "I'm proud of you"
Help put on your wedding dress
 And cry at that, too
A mother is never really appreciated
 Not to her full extent
 For everything she does
 When you're a kid
 But when you're older
You realize how much she meant to you
And that is she somehow isn't
 A permanent fixture
 That you thought she was
 She will be gone
 She won't always be there
 Sometimes not even for
 Braiding your hair
Or helping you put on your dresses
Or even crying at your various functions
 Like me then,
You know what it's like to not have very long
 But every second you remember
 You treasure for a lifetime
