Beauty Redefined
Stupid
Unwanted
Worthless
Ugly
The words ring in your head loudly
Causing the truth to be blinded
You shift uncomfortably
As the memories you are reminded
The words coming out so easy
The expression is nothing but the truth
The word suddenly making you queasy
As they shape you’re growing youth
No matter how hard they try
You regard yourself the same
Convinced it’s all just a lie
As you lower your head in shame
The words ring in your head deafening
As you try to have a normal life
Though the compliments are quite unsettling
But everyone continues to try
Even as you grow the older
The truth sticks with you till the end
For beauty may be in the eye of the beholder
The saying is all but pretend
For beauty is universal
