My First Dance
The lights were dim, and although the gym was
Over-crowded, it was as if it was just the two of us.
We walked hand in hand, and he grabbed my waist
And pulled me in close. Our bodies were pressed up against
Each other, my head rest on his shoulder and we were both silent.
We danced, and he led. Back and forth our feet side-stepped until
We walked around in a full circle. The song “A Thousand Years”
By Christina Perri was playing.
My eyes filled with tears, the moment was just so perfect.
He pushed me back, and took hold of my chin. He wiped away my tears,
Pushed back my hair and kissed my forehead.
We danced until our feet ached.
It was a magical night.
