The Cute Boy from the Record Store
Yesterday
I was flipping through the R’s
 In my favorite music shop
 Searching for the song to
 Narrate my life
And thinking about the hunger in my chest that won’t go away
And how there’s a sale at whole foods, and I really needed milk

When I looked up I saw:
 The cashier
 Piles of records
A boy with corduroy pants and boots
And a man with a porn-stache and braces
And I bought a Beatles record,
The one I didn’t have yet
 And I left

 The next week when I
Took the underground to whole foods
 For milk
I wore corduroy pants and boots
Flipping through songs on my iPod
Like they were records in a store
And thinking about the hole in my stomach
And how I have an essay due for English next week
