Do You Remember My Lullaby?
Do you remember my lullaby?
The one that you sang
To ease me to sleep
And wash away my fears,
But most of all,
My pain?
Do you remember my lullaby?
The one that filled me with joy,
Filled my heart with hope,
And made me think of home?
Do you remember my lullaby?
The one that makes me think
Of you
Your face
Your voice
And the world of possibilities
You laid at my feet?
Do you remember my lullaby?
The one still playing
On repeat
In my mind
When I wake from a
Long night?
Do you remember my lullaby?
That still,
Even now
Is like a fresh,
New day?
Do you remember my lullaby?
The one with the beautiful
Sounds
And notes
And words like honey
That dripped from your tongue?
Do you remember my lullaby?
The one I now sing
To you?
Do you remember my lullaby?
No.
I see
The look on your face.
I don't think you do.
All, but me
Have forgotten it.
Including you.
