The One the Light Lost
the Darkness around her hungered,
while the Light had had it’s fill.
the Light began to bore her,
but the Dark still gave a thrill.
and when the time had come,
to make that fatal choice,
she said “Dark” and only that.
then they took away her voice.
they took away her freedom,
her heart and dignity,
they made her walk in chains with them,
never to be free.
she tried to object, tried to protest,
but they never let her go.
she lived a life of misery.
and that is all we know.
