Double Standards
It's frustrating
 That no one understands
 What's in my heart
Everyone shy's away from the topic
 A fear engrained at birth
As if saying the word will corrupt them

This is the reason teen suicide is high
 These kids don't feel safe
 With so much prejudice
 They and I feel worthless
 When you call us names
We don't take fag, d*ke, or homo lightly

 We hear all these words
 It hurts us
In the same way the "N" word
 Affects an African American
 It's a double standard
Why do we get the short end?

Just because we aren't the norm
 Doesn't mean we are wrong
 We aren't that different
Even though you say we are
 We are humans
 We have feelings
