never sure of my own feelings
i slip underwater in my soul
i drown amidst the hurt i hold
inside a mind filled to the brink
with salted wounds that make me sink
to the infinitesimal depths of me,
a place i hope no one ever sees,
where my smiles are tainted with choking breaths
of a toxic air with no oxygen left
inside lungs lurking near a chasm of a heart,
a decimated place that's fallen apart.
