Fiery reds and cool blues
Her vibrancy filling a room
of subdued sparrows
identically
boring

Songs of her own
offbeat melodies and
dissonant sounds
heard boldly above
the chorus

Spreading her wings
occupying space
that she deserves
completely owning
her place in
the world
