Always There
Every day, we always said- good morning
You were always there, and I was always here
Memories I have of my past-
Not one did not include you
Do you even know- how much you meant to me?
I can still remember that October night
We sat laughing, talking- but then-
It stopped, and I simply can't remember
Is this really how it ends? It's just not fair!
Without a goodbye- it came like a thief in the night
They say that as time passes by...
The pain, sorrow, memories, heartache- it will all fade
But they'll never understand- it won't
Nothing is the same, everything has changed
I ask you- When? When does it go away?
So many things hold reminders of you
I try so hard- to hold back the tears
But when I wake-good morning is what I say
No response- emptiness as I look where you would be
The pain is hidden, but it's there- it's always there
