the break in my day

I breathe in a long sign of relief.
This seven hour day had been so long.
But there was no more impossible anatomy,
Unfeasible cell respiration,
Or unending grammar,
At least not for today.
Forgetting all of that,
I take the long walk to the locker room,
I visualize what I will be doing on in a few short minutes.
I can feel the water rushing past my head,
As smooth as silk.
I hear the splashing of my teammates kicking,
And taste the chlorine in the air.
Only a few short steps lead me to my second home.
