A Moment with My Mind

From the moment I was
so lost I couldn't be
found, I gave in
and let it all take
over.
All of the pain
and the heartache and
loneliness.
I let it define me
and my thoughts because
a torn spirit is easily
satisfied.
It never needs
hope or love but only a
chance, a chance to prove
it's worth its existence,
that it won't go down without
making itself heard.
Never going softly.
I won't go softly.
