You pluck me from darkness
And tuck me into your folded wings
Enveloping me in a love
only a daughter could ever know
When I fall blindly
You ensure I don’t scrape a knee
You shine through my darkest forest
Dimming the lights when they begin to catch fire
Your words flow like a river
Winding peacefully where it is needed most
If only I could fly as high as you
