Greed
Why does one strive for wealth?
Possibly because of greed?
Possibly out of fear?
Or maybe it is to appease a deep insecurity that one has.
Whatever the reason, one must know that money does not always equivocate to happiness,
And wealth can never pacify the hunger that one has.
Some of the richest people are also the saddest
History has made it evident that money brings out the worst in us.
The desire of gold and silver often leads to disaster,
As the Incas and the Aztec’s were,
Destroyed and pillaged by men whose hearts thirsted for gold.
Once money steals one’s attention,
It will never give that attention back.
As time grows older so does one’s desire to be greater
Differences in wealth can destroy friendships and families,
Greed can turn the friendliest person
To the meanest man on earth
And the richest man alive
May constantly fear the day,
When all of his wealth,
Just goes away.
