Faded
About a week before Thanksgiving,
my world came crashing down.
He isn't here, my mother said,
tears in her eyes.
I fell to my knees,
tucking into her lap.
I begged to see him,
but instead I saw a house full of sadness.
And so, I ran away,
to my little cave,
never to come out again.
My friends try to find me,
but it was too late.
I had already faded.
