Paradise?
I wish to find a place where
There are meadows and roses
But also lakes and coves
Where the air smells like springtime
And winter too
Violets and cinnamon and snow.
Where solitude is company
Where the heart feels at home
At rest, frozen yet throbbing with life
Where the taste that lingers
Is lemon and fresh cakes
Richness of vanilla and simplicity of warm bread.
Where the atmosphere may caress
Like showers of dawn
To touch- velvety, but well worn.
Where the sound is melody of silence
No spoken word may break
A single sweet note of harmony.
Where a weary soul finds beauty
In every direction.
Where an unbreakable bond is formed
Of human, nature, and Life,
And presence of the Divine.
Where an unmistakable satisfaction prevails
In every drawn breath.
I yearn to find such a place.
Never have I found such a place.
