Promises
His eyes are every shade of green;
an imperfect hazel
that perfectly paralyze me.
Then he speaks; his words feel so right
but surrender to the serenity of
his voice.
I have no choice
but to kiss
his lips
as my body submits to his whole
essence.
His wings that define him,
on his back are defined in,
black ink that I run my fingers over,
connecting the lines
and intricate designs;
such permanence is promising.
Like a swan devoted to her lover,
one heart stops and so does the other.
The only finger that obtains a vein
connected to the heart
embraces the letter “R”, for his name
that haunts my conscious mind
and unconscious mind,
there’s no way I could deny
how his smile doesn’t shine
for anyone but me.
But he’ll never get how I can’t forget
the way he laughs at the world,
the slightest tilt of his head
when he’s pensive,
or the way his shoulders tense
when he’s mad for 30 seconds;
and in those 30 seconds time sinks and slows
and I’m afraid I’ll never rekindle our perfect flow.
And I hurt.
And I miss the way
he misses me.
But it’s not too late
as the warmth of Fate
brings back his consoling hand.
And his eyes of green,
always redeem
and paralyze me again.
