The Stage

The stage
Petrified, my heart trembles.
Stepping on the hard floor of the stage,
I take in the musky air.
The pounding of my heart amplifies
with each step.
The roar of the crowd sends chills down my spine.
My adrenaline kicks in
replacing my anxiety.
Music plays and I get lost within the beats
My body automatically remembers the set
that has been practiced for countless hours
days and nights
As the music fades, my mind is at ease
My heart at peace
and my feet longing for more.
