I peer out the window
The cold window
And see the snow
The crisp clean snow

It is clean and white
And Pure
A soft blanket to rest on

I leave the safety of my room
And venture outside to the snow
It is cold
It is crisp

It is not soft
It is not pure

It is cold
And cares for no one
It takes
And does not give

A pretty package
wrapped with deceit

The snow the mid-west is having right now inspired this piece. Snow is really pretty to look at, but in truth, it is very cold.
