On Joy
I will not hide myself nor my joy from you.
Brothers and sisters, stand with me and cheer
For life is short and pain takes too much time to bear
So rise with me, my friends, as we face the coming storm
Raise your arms and scream beauty into the rising sun
Dare the darkness to break your golden armor
And kindly offer it a light of its own when the battle is won
Let it be your will and love that raises the sun in the morning
Make your beauty and kindness spin the earth on its axis
And show the world what happiness can feel like
I will not hide my joy from you.
I will press it into your hands as a gift from my soul
And I will be honored for you to take it.
I ask for only one thing in return, in a humble request -
Do not hide your joy from the world.
