The next Marilyn Monroe
I look happy all the time.
With a smile and everything.
But it’s all just my disguise.
I dance and laugh on the outside.
But on the inside I scream.
You’d be amazed of what people think.
They could be the nicest person you’ve ever met, but they could be thinking the most horrible things about you.
Who are they when they could be the
next Marilyn Monroe.
Another little candle for Elton John, that wasn’t saved that night?
Don’t be surprised when you find out.
When I stop laughing and the music stops playing.
When I am paralyzed from the head down and all that comes out is a desert.
I am a shadow that longs to be like them.
That longs to be like a star. That could be full of life and amazing.
A shadow that bought their smile at the nearest Wal-Mart.
Who am I when I could be the next Marilyn Monroe?
Another little candle for Elton John, that wasn’t saved that night?
