Your smile was so bright
Even on a day of gray
I still don’t understand
Why you had to leave yesterday
You told me I was special
You saw only brilliance
But now that you have gone
There’s no one left but silence
I never saw it coming
I only saw the mask
I thought you were so happy
But I never thought to ask
A bullet to the head
That’s all it really takes
Now I see your real face
You shot off all your fakes
Your smile was so bright
Even on a day of gray
I still don’t understand
Why you had to leave yesterday
