Favorite Quote:
The Papacy is not other than the Ghost of the deceased Roman Empire, sitting crowned upon the grave thereof.

Pounding, crushing, crashing, and shaking
Truculent boulders gliding by
Bashing, flying, rushing, and killing
Furtive arrows cover the sky
Gasping, collapsing, seeking, and mourning
Immured beasts trapped by debris
Nothing, something, everything, and anything
Pallid faced women sobbing solemnly
Propitiating, begging, praying, and negotiating
Prisoners of war asking for their lives
Bleeding, forming, scurrying, and commanding
The General leads to imply
Relegating, commending, segregating, and humiliating
The King sits and watches.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem with the thought of government corruption and how the "king" figure in society does nothing himself, he only sits back and watches as his kingdom grows/burns.
