Monika the Hot Air Balloon Pilot MAG
Her head is the sky. Inside it, that is
Beneath the hair and skin and bones is blue. It's not
Gray polluted sky, air congested. And it's not
Pale blue or sunset pink and orange. Inside her head is a vast, Persian blue.
Deep and wide and extending in all dimensions.
Watch her shut her eyes and see her eyelids tremble. You are seeing her seeing blue.
The blue in her mind is a vantage point for seeing the whole world.
She isn't stagnant. She's four a.m. coffee and revving a truck to an empty field. She's gas burning to a monstrous flame,
Colored balloon rising. Like a monster creation animated, but beautiful.
Monika is the pilot and the master of this teardrop shape that slowly lifts through the dawn sky.

"..But inside something gnaws at me; some presentiment, anxiety, dreams - or sleeplessness - melancholy, indifference - desire for life, and the next instant, desire for death; some kind of sweet peace, some kind of numbness, absent-mindedness..." Frederic Chopin
