The scream of a butter fly is so quiet
you can hardly hear it

She screams
but no one hears her
she cries
but no one cares enough to look

she is a butterfly
One winged, injured
but still flying

She is strong
she is a butterfly
being tossed in the wind
but still flying in the rain
she is a butterfly
one winged, injured
but still flying

The author's comments:
this piece was kind of inspired by child abuse. i wrote this piece after a conversation i had about this sensitive subject' i hope this poem spreads some sense of awareness to its readers.
