Snow Day
I wake up
To the sound of plowtrucks,
Scraping the hard, frozen snow.
To the sound of wind
Shrieking, howling, and screaming at me
from the darkness outside my window.
Another day of school
perhaps.
Not today.
"Snowstorm slams New York City as schools close.."
A snow day!
Too sleepy to rejoice,
back to sleep,
back to the land of my dreams of soft snow and gentle winds.
