Glitter Girl
Rain is falling from my eyes,
Dripping onto the leaves of His word,
 Reflecting off of shattered glass
Only muddy remains of broken dreams.
 Flashbacks play of sunny days
Of wind blowing the tall country grass.
 A summer of happiness,
 A life of adventure,
 A flower plucked too early.

They don’t care who you were.
They don’t want to know who you were.
The only thing that matters is the facts.
To them you’re a stupid girl who drove too fast
 But to us you’re perfect.
To us you’re the brightest star in the sky.
 What could’ve been,
 what never will,
years gone, and we remember you still.

 Always happy,
 glittering and smiling,
 gone but never alone.
