Willows
Wild willows crooked towards the night
Silent and unstirred peaceful in light
Some branches loose bearing the cold fight
Coyotes howl to show their pride
The moon’s shine covers wide
Under the white sheet it seems to slide
Snow fits the glove
Of the hand of winter love
There and there is a frozen dove
Cold lungs and freezing sleep
Food brought in a heep
Black in their minds they’re in too deep
No more bugs no more flowers
Strength in ice comes in towers
Mother Nature sure has her powers
Whistling willows stand in her icy cries
Firm and frigid dancing through the nasty sighs
Mother Nature has come throwing her surprise
