Chosen
Perhaps I chose poetry
Because of how I see
Everything
In such painstaking detail;
Because of how my
Restless mind
Springs, unfurling its tinkering thoughts
At the slightest kiss of
Warmth still lingering
On a fragment of a breeze,
Wandering between tomorrow, now, and then.
Crossing a breath of the seas
And deliver me unto dreams
Of a beauty that my eyes may never see;
Or, perhaps
That is why poetry chose me.
