TO HIM
And I thought
You could have been the guy
I sometimes see in my dreams.
The one that has no face.
Or at least
Not one I can remember.
I always remember him laughing.
Sometimes he kisses me.
I thought it could be you.
I thought
You could be the boy
Whose voice lulls me to sleep,
The shoulder for me to cry on
The arms to hold me up
When I would feel like breaking down.
I thought you wanted it
Thought you felt it
When you took my hand.
When we kissed.
You shivered.
I thought it was from that feeling
In the pit of your stomach
That is both uncomfortable
And thrilling
That makes you’re insides spark
You shivered.
But It was just from the cold.
