Never-ending
T'was a dreary night when it happened
The moon was up, my eyes were closed
My mind seemed to drift to this imaginary place, yet it seemed so real
Pictures started to emerge, it was eerie and dark
Something didn't feel right
I was walking faster and faster towards an object
it was a tree, a dying tree
I walked over to it and sat
a feather fell into my lap
an ebony black feather, soft at touch
I look up and see a raven, it sat there staring at me
I screamed "Leave me alone, go away!"
it started laughing
the surrounding area started to get foggy
the raven then materialized into a human figure
it spoke, but quietly, I couldn't hear
it came closer and spoke again:
"I am nobody, who are you, are you nobody too?"
My body quivered as the cool breeze blew through
I didn't answer I didn't want to answer
I wanted to wake up
The ghostly figure laughed and grabbed my hand
My heart was racing, my hands were shaking
and then - POOF! it was gone...
I was stuck I couldn't wake up
I am trapped in a never-ending dream
I am confined to an in-between world -
neither dead nor alive
I am imprisoned here for eternity
I am nobody, who are you, are you nobody too?
