What a Child
Big brown eyes,
Rosy cheeks,
The sweetness in her laughter,
Her innocent smile would brighten anyone’s day
Oh what a child.
Saw the beauty in everything and everyone.
Wanted to help everyone,
Regardless of what they’ve done,
Regardless of the price she’d pay,
Regardless of the sacrifice she may need to make.
Her light burned bright,
Bright as the sun,
But she burned too bright to hold in anyone’s arms
So she covered it up
In sorrow and sadness.
She covered it up,
In guilt that almost drove her to madness.
No more a delicate flower.
As the wounds healed,
The agony remained,
And her light begins to fade,
Infact its barely alive.
Those big brown eyes,
Those rosy cheeks,
That sweetness that was in her laughter,
That innocent smile that would brighten anyone’s day.
Oh what happened to that child.
