The Green Veil
Most days I emanate a brilliant green
alive and charismatic,
sharp like a blade of grass,
for others I shine like the elixir of life
But behind the glow, there is black
unknowing and blind,
I am conditioned to fear the dark
I believe there lies a bed of flowers,
but I am told within the flowers, resides a demon
It is Mardi Gras, I wear a mask
mask the black, mask the green, be the child that is seen
