In The City
A little cafe
A big old place
A lost city
And your lonely face
Try to find comfort
In the little things
Like the rustle of newspaper
Or scent of coffee beans
And maybe for a week
I see the hope in things
But then your face flashes in the crowd
And my heart no longer sings
Breathing is a chore
But I keep this silent
If someone were to find out
Don't blame me for becoming violent
It doesn't surprise me
That in a city so slick
There's less a chance of love
And more of getting sick
