A Dreamer Afraid to Dream
It's the middle of the night
Surrounded by darkness
Just trying to find some light
My mind is racing
Problems, questions, fears
Everything I avoid facing
Too afraid to close my eyes
Afraid of what may come, who I will see
Knowing it will only lead to late night cries
I can't let myself fall, can't let myself go
Can't drift off
The consequences worse than you know
The nightmares keep me awake
A dreamer afraid to dream
What worse could they take
I've always lived in my dreams
Afraid to face reality
It's even harder than it seems
My escape is gone, nowhere else to hide
I'm stuck in reality with no way out
Forced to face the demons, no longer trapped inside
