Summer of Love
I like to close my eyes
And travel in the back of my mind
To a different place in time
First there’s the sun, beating down on us.
Its rays warm every inch of our bodies,
We wear shades to protect our eyes
Seeing the world through a pair of rose colored glasses.
The mud squishing between our toes
With every step we sink a little deeper into it
But it doesn’t matter because the smell of sweet flowers fills the air.
Then there is the music, and the feeling of good vibes
We stop and listen; close our eyes
The sounds surround us
Slowly, we are swaying
Trying to find the beat
Our arms rise up above us and we dance.
Feeling eternal peace,
In the summer of love.
