Free Fall
I remember it was still.
Everything was still.
The anticipation hung in the air and in his eyes.
His right hand was shoved deep into his pocket, his left fiddling with that old key chain.
His smile and eyes were aimed away from me.
7 little letters, 3 monstrous words escaped him.
I said, "Are you afraid of heights?"
He stared at me with curiosity, and slowly nodded.
I said, "good, that means you're terrified but you fell for me anyway."
That was 8 months, 4 days, 7 hours, and 32 minutes ago.
I guess your fear got the best of you.
