Untitled
People can be placed into three categories
The first are those who are fixed to the ground.
Whether this is out of pain, shame, or loss,
They do not realize they are their own boss.
There are also those with their eyes to the sky,
Too far removed to ask anyone why
And never even notice when there are cries
For help from those who need it most.
The last are the rare and far between,
The ones who see we are not, in fact, free.
But because of this they are free themselves,
They look around town and can tell
That there is indeed pain and poverty,
But do not wish for something out of a lottery.
They instigate the change that is needed
Through silent protests and sowed seeds,
So their children’s children can keep up the fight
For what they know is right.
These are the people most claim to be,
But stay home, never to leave.
Safety and security are the only things that matter
In a society that abhors change for the better.
The ground and the sky are not going to change things for you,
So now the question is;
What will you do?
