Picture a Life
Picture a child.
She is four years old and watching her favorite princess movie
Again.
With her tiara in her hair, she pictures true love. He
comes in, they instantly know, and get married at sunset.
Flash forward six years.
The same child is now ten. She's seen hurt.
She's seen courtrooms and crying.
She thinks back to her younger self and laughs.
How could she believe in love?
Love is a fantasy, like the other fairy tales she has thrown away.
Five more years pass.
Our child is on her way to becoming an adult.
Her friends have all had their first kisses.
She has held them as they cried. It never works out.
When He smiles at her,
The butterflies start.
She just looks away.
