Sunrise over Me
BEHHHHHEREHHHEHRRREEENNNNGGGGG!
It's six thirty already?
Four hours slip by so fast.
I get up,
I apply a face enhancer,
eat some carbs,
brush my teeth,
pray I haven't forgotten anything,
and go out the door.
I walk past the pine trees,
as I whisper a good morning to the mourning doves.
I watch the sky warm into pools of
yellow orange and red.
I hear more and more birds chirp.
I smell the dirt growing it's fresh grass, and I linger as the trees,
become green again.
I make it all the way down to the bus stop,
and sit and stare.
How do the most beautiful things
come from the most unpleasant awakenings?
