Celestial Roadmap to Nowhere
The moon stares back at me through a haze of blue silk
Damp longing strangles my soul like a blanket
The road to nowhere is long, but I hope to arrive
Past is buried; dead it stays, with Future as the rising sun
When I reach my mountaintop, I will know the way back to sanctuary
I will see the anguish in the eyes of those who drowned in my tears
The night howls in my ears, laced with the screams of those I hurt
My emotion arches for the life that watched the ground where I stand
Clouds cover my light as I trudge through doubt to my life ahead
Do the watchmen come for those who sought evil?
Or do they fly on noble steeds to those who let the gates flood?
Will I be lost with tears burning my face like acid as they trickle down like a deadly ribbon?
I never meant for them to fade with the fog
The stars no longer guide my way home
But what is the dwelling in which I thrive on lies and hate? A symbolic resting place
A place not for the outcasts and sinners of the dirt
The communion I long for awaits as the staircase banisters shine like gold
I will achieve my goal with footfalls becoming few
The glint of silver graces my pain with a lightning kiss
Gravity takes hold as I tumble to the earth from which I came
