"Poetry is like the pollen of a flower, so delicate and sweet, and spreads as rapid as the seeds of a dandelion."

Oh! How you grow
strong and tall like a mighty beast
but majestic like a butterfly
My dear we parted so long ago
and it's time to recollect again
Not now but down the road
we'll meet each other sometime
When the first petal falls
I'll cry a great deal
but for now I'll say my prayers
You've been gone for so long
almost a year
but your memory will never be lost
The rose bush grows with the strength of you
My friend don't you think it's true
When it's time for winter
I'll still have your picture
soon we'll meet again

This piece is about my grandfather that passed about a year ago. We were very close and in school we had to write a free verse poem about something we lost. This was the perfect opportunity for me to express my feelings. I hope you'll enjoy it!
