When I say "Flawless"
"You are flawless."
I look at you, but I don't see perfection.
I can see that twitch in your eyes,
That uncertain quiver resting on your lips,
The cracks in your heart from all those 'goodbyes'.
Your long, bony fingers, jagged as a blade's edge.
Your skin, as pale as a porcelain doll.
The stutter when you speak, slurring all your words,
The imbalance of your thoughts, keeping you lost.
When I look at you, I can see all your flaws,
But I don't see them as you do.
You're not flawless, you're perfect in all your flaws
Those missing puzzle pieces that make you, you.
Your eyes may twitch but they sparkle with joy,
Those quivering lips, when kissed, lay soft and still.
A life-changing 'hello' to fix your broken heart,
I hope that maybe one day, mine will.
Those fingers, still rough, soften with my touch,
Your skin glows like a moon in a starless night.
It's not how you speak but the words that you use.
One day I'll guide your lost thoughts to me. I'll be the light.
