Painful Reminders

I hear laughter,
bright and full of joy
I see smiles,
genuine and radiating happiness
I cannot help despising it all,
looking at a world of light and sunshine
and comparing it to my cloudy days
I don't want to see those bright smiles and cheerful laughs
those sparkling eyes and wide grins
I don't want to be reminded over and over again
What they have and I do not.
