Tiny Dancer
Here I stand,
on the tips of my toes,
grasping the barre lightly.
My shoulder back,
head held high,
a pleasant smile on my face.
I am in my comfort zone,
somewhere where I feel wanted,
as though I belong.
In school,
the comments are harsh,
"Your sport isn't even a sport."
And you're right.
It's not a sport.
It is an art.
I do what you do,
but I make it look easier,
and look one thousand times better than you.
