My Beautiful Home, Colorado
I live in the most beautiful place.
The pines,
the evergreens,
snow on the mountain tops even though its June.
In one day I can travel from desert to mountains,
hike or swim.
We may not have palm trees or sandy beaches,
but our sunsets can't be beat.
The drive from my hometown to Durango is my favorite.
The roads swerving along the mountain sides, going along with the groove of nature.
Driving inches next to a cliffs edge,
looking down at the little mountain town below.
Trees cover the mountain side.
From the road they look like grass, but I know they stand much taller.
Watching over the travelers.
I live in the most beautiful place,
Colorful Colorado.
